PAPER MUSEUM IN DUSZNIKI-ZDROJ: this is a unique place that allows you to learn about the history and secrets of paper production.

The tradition of paper making in Duszniki dates back to the mid-16th century. The first paper mill was destroyed in 1601 by a flood, but the mill was rebuilt and paper production resumed in 1605. Sheets from Duszniki became famous throughout Silesia - they were used, among others, in offices, offices and printing houses in Wrocław and other cities and towns throughout the region. In the 18th century, after the takeover of Silesia by Prussia, Duszniki paper appeared at the court in Berlin, and the owner of the mill became known as the court papermaker of the King of Prussia. For centuries, income from the sale of paper was invested in a paper mill, which became one of the most interesting industrial facilities in Europe. The beautifully restored Duszniki paper mill is today one of the most valuable architectural gems in the region. The Papermaking Museum there presents proud industrial traditions, but also allows you to experience a unique adventure. Here you can see historic paper equipment, models of machines, examples of banknotes from various eras and collections of sheets with watermarks. Visitors can make their own sheet of paper as a souvenir of their stay in Duszniki-Zdrój.

Drawing sheets, which was once a source of wealth for Duszniki papermakers, is now great fun that cannot be missed when traveling around the Kłodzko region and Lower Silesia.
